Scenic World NSW

Scenic World is an experience of the senses. High above the spectacular waterfalls and ancient ravines you will feel as if you are floating in the air. The Skyway has a glass floor that allows you to see the Jurassic rain forests as you are suspended in the sky above them.

A 720-metre journey from 270 metres above the ground, experience the 360-degree views of Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary, the Three Sisters and the incredible Jamison Valley. Prices range from $5.00 for the youngsters to a mere $40.00 (round trip) for the entire family. This is an inexpensive way to ensure memories you and your loved ones will never forget.

If you would prefer to be in the Jamison Valley rainforest, rather than just seeing it from above, take a trip on the steepest aerial cable car in all of Australia. The Scenic Cableway is completely wheel chair accessible so even those with difficulty walking or standing can enjoy the trip. Once you reach the bottom you can continue your journey through the World Heritage listed Valley by walk or rail.

The Scenic Walkway is more than two kilometres of boardwalk leading right through the breathtaking ancient rainforest. There are even 380 meters of the boardwalk that are wheel chair accessible.

There are many things to see while in the rainforest, such as the magnificent local flora and the Marrangaroo Springs. The Rainforest Room sits deep within the Jamison Valley and has bench seating for more than 100 people.

Shortly into the journey, visitors have the opportunity to watch a short display at the Coal Mine Exhibition. Take time to explore the life size sculptures of a mineworker and his pony made of bronze. There are other displays as well, such as the tools the miners used. It truly is a wonderful experience.

Instead of taking the Scenic Cableway to the bottom, you can choose to take it only for the return trip to the top. Let the Scenic Railway carry you down a 415-meter descent through a tunnel forged through the cliffs side. The Scenic Railway takes you directly to the Scenic Walkway – it’s just an alternate way to reach the same destination. The Railway carries a maximum of 84 people and operates every 10 minutes, ensuring that there is plenty of room for every person in your party during any part of the day.
